D&D Day 5: Ice, Fire and Lightning

Dungeons and Dragons, Day 5

The heroes entered another room of the Temple of the Forgotten Primordial.  There they encountered the halfling twin rogues, Merin and Ferin, who had been allied with Alzedril all along.  Using their water shard the twins formed into water (like the Wonder Twins), split into four halfling rogues and assaulted the party.  During the battle Torion charged and fell into a pit the halflings had constructed.  The party also deftly avoided a mass of creeping ice that roamed the room.

After defeating the rogues, the heroes entered the opened the three gem sealed door and found Saya, the elven priestess, surrounded by chasms of fire.  She failed her part in the ritual and her hands are burnt and blackened as a result.  Though she harbored no ill will against the party, conflict could not be avoided.  She summoned her volcanic dragon whelpling, Vulcana, in order to protect her.  After defeating her dragon protector and the priestess, as well as nearly falling into the chasms of lava, the party headed further into the temple.

In the next room, the heroes found a large broken statue of a primordial.  By looking at it, elementals feel ill at ease and have no desire to enter the room.  The party also reacquainted with Tomasz, who claimed to have been kidnapped by Alzedril's forces.  Thorry the Reckless was wary of this strange turn of events and Hadarai placed him in a Phantom Cage.  Luckily, Firajal told the group that the traveling trader was actually a demon in disguise.  Tomasz shed his human husk and the party fought against a plague demon.

After an extended rest in this anti-elemental room, the party confronted Alzedril on a gigantic balcony overlooking a terrible storm.  Fearlessly she stated that they would not be able to stop the ritual and underestimated the heroes.  The party battled against the eladrin bard, wind and lightning elementals, until eventually Torion destroyed Alzedril's white crystal shard.

After defeating Alzedril, the whole temple began to collapse.
