D&D Day 16: Aftermath of the Split, Part 2

Orcs of the Mountain
Starring: Torion

Torion returned to Merchaise feeling good about saving the mountain pass. With their plan foiled, the orcs left the mountain pass. After his mercenaries Barsul the Goliath Shaman and Elisia the Eladrin Sorceress left, the minotaur warrior met with one of the merchant lords of the town in order to collect his reward.

Lord Droust, a very obese man, was having a feast as the bull entered the lord's manor. The human did not acknowledge Torion's success and told him to leave. He even threw a bag of gold so that the minotaur would exit without further complaints.

Torion would not be swayed. He argued that he had done his job and completed the contract. However, the fat merchant lord Droust wanted proof, proof that Torion did not have. After much threatening by the merchant's bodyguards, the minotaur reluctantly left.

Visions of the future flashed and Torion saw a major conflict approaching including an army of Fey from the western Sylvan Barrier, a human militia in the towns west of the mountain range, and orcs  through the pass that the minotaur had saved.

Orphans of the Forest
Starring: Thorry the Reckless, Vanielle Everchange

Thorry and Vanielle escorted the orphans including the young elf and a young dwarf to Merchaise. They were met with a Paladin from Pelor, that offered to take the children to the orphanage. The holy group had been out on a mission and returned to restore the orphanage. The party was reluctant to just give them to any agent of Pelor because of their dealings with Lord Bastar and his soldiers who wore the same symbol.

After meeting with a town official, they were given their reward. They sent the children to go with the Church of Pelor. Vanielle gave the elf girl Taria one of her arrows and an inspiring speech. Thorry made fun of the dwarf behind his back.

The two saw visions of the future of the elf girl they had saved becoming a powerful archer and mercenary for the human militia against the Fey army. Taria was a shining presence that mimicked Vanielle Everchange's battle prowess.

Hidden underneath a tree, Vanielle saw a shrine to her goddess Sehanine, and after praying to it the elf deity granted her a change to her abilities. The goddess of the moon purged some of the darkness in the elf assassin's heart and transformed her into a seeker.
